Where To Buy Tomato Plants

Where To Buy Tomato Plants

Buy Tomato Plants

I have not had the best luck in my attempts to buy tomato plants at the all-in-one big discount stores or the local hardware stores (you know the ones I mean). Those stores are all about offering the big discounts, and discounted plants are just one more item to add to their shelves during the growing season, but definitely not one of their specialties. Discounted tomato plants often means zero quality control, and therefore the quality of what they sell is inferior to those you can purchase at a nursery.

Sure, you may pay a little more at the nurseries, but the difference in price relative to the taste of the tomatoes is really insignificant when you consider just how many more delicious tomatoes these quality plants produce. I love going to our local nursery and spending hours and hours browsing and buying, but sometimes my eyes are bigger than either my wallet or my yard, so I’ve found purchasing plants online keeps me in check with both!!

What I can say is that this particular nursery is one of my all time favorite online nurseries and I’ve never had a complaint about any of the plants I’ve ordered from them. They take great care from nursery to door, and once I’ve found a reliable source I tend to stick with them.

When you buy tomato plants online from this nursery, you’ll be assured quality control and quality care in shipping and packing. Their tomato plants are approximately 6-12″ tall and come in extra large 4.5″ pots. Each plant is wrapped individually to hold in the soil and moisture. They ship in large pots to keep the stress of transport to a minimum, and their interior cartons are made to fit the plants.

I don’t profess to know everything about every tomato variety there is, nor would I even imagine that in my lifetime I will plant one of each variety out there. Normally I’ll plant 2-4 varieties each year, at least 2-3 of these being some of our family favorites and another which is new and different to us (maybe one I’ve tried somewhere else but never attempted to grow myself).
